The Azerbaijan national freestyle wrestling team has kicked off preparations at the Quba Olympic Sports Complex. Starting October 11 and lasting two weeks, the camp is intended to prepare for the world championship in Kazakhstan, scheduled for October 24 to November 1. Under the supervision of head coach Xetaq Qazyumov, the training focuses on improving athletes’ physical endurance and strengthening tactical-technical readiness.
Postxronika.az reports with reference to the Wrestling Federation that, in order to improve the quality of preparations and expand sparring opportunities, 12 members of the U20 team have also been included in the camp. At a major event to be held in Astana, the freestyle wrestlers’ competition will run from October 29 to November 1. Our national team’s experienced and young wrestlers aim to return from a similar world tournament with a rich haul of medals.
Intensive training carried out by specialists will help our athletes reach optimal form. The federation’s team, prepared with a strong squad, is expected to achieve high results on the international stage. The training camp in Quba serves as an important foundation for our national team’s triumphant run at the world championship.
