FIDE and ASF leaders meet in Baku

International Chess Federation (FIDE) newly elected president Timur Turlov has visited Baku. Postxronika.az reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Youth and Sports that, as part of the visit, Timur Turlov met with Mahir Mammadov, president of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation. During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the development of chess in Azerbaijan, Baku’s experience in hosting international tournaments, and future prospects for cooperation between FIDE and the ASF. At the end of the meeting, the ASF head Mahir Mammadov presented the guest with a commemorative gift. It should be noted that last month Timur Turlov was elected the new president of FIDE, while Mahir Mammadov was elected vice-president of the International Chess Federation for the third time.
