Former Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, have denied responsibility for new charges at a court hearing in New York.
Postxronika.az reports, citing TASS, that Maduro called the charges fabricated, while Flores said she considers herself completely innocent.
During the hearing, the prosecution proposed postponing the start of the court proceedings by two weeks. Maduro’s lawyer, Barry Pollack, said that taking the new charges into account makes the proposed schedule difficult, but that he hopes it can be followed.
