Russian Defense Ministry: Ukrainian troops encircled near Dobropillia

Russia's Defense Ministry has said Ukrainian troops have been encircled in the direction of the city of Dobropillia in the Donetsk People's Republic.

Postxronika.az reports, citing TASS, that the "Center" group of Russian armed forces is continuing operations against the encircled units and advancing in the direction of Oleksandrivka.

According to the ministry, attempts by Ukrainian troops to break out of the encirclement are being repelled.

The Russian side considers the Dobropillia direction one of the key areas for gaining full control over Donbas.

It was reported that gaining control over the city could disrupt the Ukrainian army's supply chain in Donbas.

The ministry claimed that Ukrainian forces are losing an average of 30-50 people a day near Dobropillia.
