"Sabah" wins its first-ever match in the UEFA Champions League group stage

The "Sabah" football club played its next match in the UEFA Champions League group stage.

As Postxronika.az reports, the Azerbaijani side, hosting the Czech team "Slavia" at the Baku Olympic Stadium, won 2-0.

There were no goals in the first half. After the break, the home side, which took control of the game, opened the scoring in the 49th minute with a precise shot by Kahim Paris. The final blow came in the 88th minute, when Coy-Lens Mikkels scored and extended the lead to two goals.

This result will be remembered as the first historic victory that "Sabah" has secured in the group stage of the Champions League, and overall, against Czech clubs.

Recall that the team led by Valdas Dambrauskas lost its opening match of the tournament in England to "Manchester United" with a score of 0-4. "Sabah" will play its next match on October 20 at home against Germany's "Borussia" (Dortmund).
