Gazprom: Gas prices in Europe could reach $2,500

Gas prices in Europe have surpassed $1,200 per 1,000 cubic meters. If the coming winter proves to be cold, it is forecast that prices could rise as high as $2,500.
Postxronika.az reports, citing TASS, that this was stated by Alexey Miller, the head of the Gazprom company.
According to him, the filling level of underground gas storage facilities in European countries has fallen to a record low. In Germany, in particular, where the European Union’s largest gas consumer is located, storage fill stands at just 61.6 percent.
Miller noted that low reserves and cold weather could trigger a sharp rise in gas prices in Europe.
