Russia’s deputy foreign minister, Aleksandr Grushko, accused the European Union of trying to limit Russia in various regions, including the South Caucasus.
Postxronika.az reports, citing TASS, that Grushko said this to journalists on the sidelines of the Verona Eurasian Economic Forum.
According to the diplomat, Brussels views Russia as a main strategic threat and continues its policy of preparing for a war with Moscow. He said that the total military budget of the EU countries has reached 450 billion euros and that this figure would rise to 1 trillion euros if NATO succeeds in meeting the goal of allocating 5% of GDP to defense spending.
