RH
On October 25–26, the Apsheron Olympic Sports Complex will host the ACF Cup in ne-waza among U-17 teenagers. In the nationwide competition, 506 judoka representing 83 clubs and sports societies will test their strength across a total of 16 weight categories. At the championship, 407 boys and 99 girls will compete fiercely for medals.
Postxronika.az reports, citing the Ministry of Youth and Sports, that in judo, the ne-waza technique, which covers ground fighting, helps athletes develop their attacking and defensive skills in the parterre. Tournaments held in this direction are designed to enable judoka to adapt more effectively to various tactical situations during bouts. The event is of great importance for improving young athletes’ professional sporting habits and expanding their experience.
Raising parterre preparation in national sports forms the foundation for successes achieved in international tournaments. Organizing large-format competitions not only increases interest in judo in the country, but also creates opportunities for promising young athletes to come to the fore. The ACF Cup to be held will make an important contribution to raising the skill level of underage athletes.
