Poisoning incident involving students in Beylagan is under AQTA control

The Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency has taken immediately under its control a case of students being poisoned at Eyvazalilar village comprehensive secondary school in the Beylagan district and has launched broad investigations. Based on initial studies, the tragic incident was recorded after the students consumed food products they had prepared themselves as part of their “Technology” class. The schoolchildren whose condition deteriorated were taken to an appropriate medical facility and are receiving the necessary medical assistance.
Postxronika.az reports, citing the Food Safety Agency (AQTA), that laboratory tests and checks are continuing as experts work to identify the exact causes of the incident. Agency staff are carrying out an investigation to clarify instances of violations of food safety rules at the educational institution. The monitoring process being conducted by the relevant bodies in connection with the mass poisoning is being kept under control.
