A complex and rarely encountered surgical procedure was carried out at the Ministry of Health’s Teaching Surgical Clinic of Azerbaijan Medical University. A pathological mass measuring 7.5 centimeters was found in the patient’s left adrenal gland. The 43-year-old female patient was suffering from a sudden rise in arterial blood pressure. After laboratory and instrumental examinations conducted by highly qualified specialists, it was decided to proceed with urgent surgical treatment.
“Postxronika.az” reports, citing the Ministry of Health, that a unilateral laparoscopic adrenalectomy performed under the leadership of Professor Rauf Nagiyev was completed successfully during the operation. The fact that a large-sized tumor was removed by cutting it out using a fully minimally invasive method, without switching to an open incision, demonstrates the doctors’ high level of professionalism. In the post-operative period, the patient’s treatment—evaluated as satisfactory—continues under medical supervision at the clinic.
The introduction of modern medical technologies significantly shortens patients’ recovery time after surgery and minimizes the risk of complications. The successful implementation of such complex interventions by local specialists working in our country demonstrates the development level of the national healthcare system. The successful surgical experience is another important achievement in the field of minimally invasive urology.
