The Baku Initiative Group (BTQ) has condemned the French Senate’s rejection of a constitutional reform envisaging granting autonomy to Corsica.
Postxronika.az reports, citing AZƏRTAC, that the group’s Executive Director Abbas Abbasov made the statement. He described the decision as a lack of respect for the will of the Corsican people and called on the French authorities to respect the people’s political, cultural and language rights.
Abbas Abbasov said that it is unacceptable to ignore the talks that have continued for more than four years and the agreements reached. He called on the international community and human rights organizations to pay attention to the Corsican people’s demand for autonomy.
