Man suspected in a series of robberies in Gakh detained

A report was received by law-enforcement agencies about the unlawful taking of household items from a house in the Gakh district. As a result of оператив measures carried out by the police, S. Mammadli, suspected of committing the offense, was identified and detained. Investigations revealed that the same person had carried out a series of thefts from several private residential homes in the district’s territory.

Postxronika.az reports with reference to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Internal Affairs (DİN) that a criminal case has been opened into the case and, by court order, the suspect has been remanded in custody as a preventive measure. Investigators are assessing whether the detained person was involved in other similar crimes. Work is underway to restore the material damage caused to citizens as a result of the police’s swift action.
