A panel dedicated to Azerbaijani literature held at the Frankfurt Book Fair
RH
As part of the 78th Frankfurt International Book Fair, a special panel devoted to Azerbaijani literature was held on October 9. Researcher Farid Huseyn delivered a detailed presentation on our rich literary heritage, the prospects of the modern language, and issues related to translation exchange. A representative of the Ministry of Culture, Lala Mammadova, noted that a new support program aimed at translating works by our authors into foreign languages is nearing completion.
Postxronika.az reports, citing the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, that the panel also discussed opportunities for cooperation in the XII Baku International Book Fair scheduled for October 21-27. Speaking at the event, literary agent Khayalə Murad talked about the representation of modern local authors in the international publishing market and about works printed in foreign languages. It should be noted that, with the organization by the Ministry of Culture and the Culture Center in Berlin, the country’s national stand is being presented at the exhibition venue.
The promotion of national literature on international platforms provides an important impetus for the development of the book industry and for strengthening cultural diplomacy. Participation in global book fairs sharply accelerates the integration of local authors into the audience of foreign readers. Such initiatives create a basis for Azerbaijani culture to be recognized worldwide on a broader scale.
