Lavrov to Discuss De-escalation of Regional Tensions with Iran

Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has traveled to Tehran to discuss issues related to reducing regional tensions.

Postxronika.az reports, citing TASS, that Lavrov will meet with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araqchi and also hold talks with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

During the meetings, practical steps will be discussed aimed at easing tensions in the Persian Gulf region and strengthening comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. Lavrov is also expected to brief the Iranian side on the outcomes of the meeting of the foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council in Bahrain.
